The Key to Your Weight-loss: Consistency
Regardless of what your goal is consistency needs to be your focus with your program.
When it comes to weight-loss you need to start out with identifying your goal, and breaking it down to what you can reasonably achieve in bite size pieces. This way you can see your progress and adjust your program in short durations of time to ensure that you stay the course.
Listen to your body. Start to log what you eat everyday. Be honest and actually measure your portions. Many of us especially in the US underestimate our portions when it comes to our food. This will let us know what our current calories in is. This will be a piece of the formula that will get us towards the weight loss. Pay attention to how what you eat makes you feel. Focus on eating nutrient dense foods, foods that have high amounts of vitamins, minerals, and protein.
Log your activity every day. This will help develop an understanding of how many calories we burn in a given day. It is extremely difficult to increase or decrease something if we do not have an understanding of our baseline.
Lean towards movement that you enjoy. If you like the exercise that you do, you will be more likely to keep up with the activity that you are doing.
